Two of the state’s largest employers Tuesday announced plans to merge their operations. The members of the Evangelical Lutheran Good Samaritan Society voted in favor to merge with Sanford Health. The move will need to get regulatory approval before becoming final. According to the non-profit, The Good Samaritan Society employs 19,000 people in 24 states, while Sanford employs 28,000 people in nine states. The companies hope to complete the merger by January 1st 2019.
