July 1st was not only the annual celebration of “Canada Day” for our neighbors to the north, it also marked the day Canada officially imposed tariffs on US exports worth $16.6 billion Canadian, $12.5 billion American.  The move comes in retaliation against the United States and President Donald Trump’s trade ware which hit Canadian steel and aluminum with tariffs June 1st.  More than 40 SU steel products have been hit by Canada’s new taxes and a 10 percent tax has been levied on over 80 other items.
