Lake Area Technical Institute gets a special visitor today.

Mike Rowe—the host of the “Dirty Jobs” television series on the Discovery Channel, and the man whose done television commercials for Ford Motor Company among others—will be in Watertown today for an invitation-only event.

Rowe is a staunch supporter of technical education, and getting people trained in the skills they need to enter the workforce.

Joining Rowe will be Governor Dennis Daugaard and Dana Dykhouse—the CEO of First Premier Bank and Premier Bankcard, which is sponsoring Rowe’s visit.

They’ll be making stops in Brandon and Watertown this morning, and in Sioux Falls this afternoon.

Unfotunately, you won’t see or hear much about Mike Rowe’s visit. He’s instructed local media there are to be no photos taken during his Watertown appearance, and the comments he makes during his address at LATI cannot be recorded.
