South Dakota Governor Kristi Noem’s veto of the industrial hemp legislation managed to survive an attempted veto override Tuesday.  The South Dakota House was able to accomplish the override with a 55-11 vote, but the override attempted died in the senate, failing to receive the necessary 2/3rds vote.  The final vote was 20-13, four votes short of the mark.  Despite claims from Governor Noem, South Dakota is not ready for industrial hemp, the state of Wyoming has passed an industrial hemp bill and North Dakota has been operating a pilot program for five years now.
