Aberdeen City Council tables discussion regarding $140,000 “Thrive in Aberdeen” campaign

The Aberdeen City Council at its regular Monday meeting tabled a decision regarding a $140,000 allocation for a new economic development campaign.

Megan Kukowski, the city’s economic development manager explained the goals of the “Thrive in Aberdeen” campaign…

Some council members questioned using resources for a city campaign this specific. Ideas were discussed regarding the Aberdeen Chamber’s “Changing the Game” campaign started in the recent past.

City Counciwoman Erin Fouberg wondered if pooling resources from other entities for one specific campaign was more efficient…

Kukowski discussed the differences between “branding” and a “campaign” like “Thrive in Aberdeen”…
