The state’s Public Utilities Commission has scrutinized an Aberdeen area cooperative for allegedly doing business without a grain-buyer license. According to an official docket opened by the PUC, the South Dakota Hutterian Co-Operative of Aberdeen has made questionable sales to soybean processor AGP in recent years. Per part of the complaint the co-op has sold in excess of $50 million of soybeans in one year to AGP. The complaint claims all other co-ops that sell untreated grain to AGP have state licenses.
