Aberdeen businessman Ron Rivett passes away at 83

Aberdeen businessman Ron Rivett, known primarily as the person responsible for the Super 8 and My Place Hotel chains has passed away at the age of 83. Rivett’s passing was made public by a death notice published by Carlsen Funeral Home and Crematory. According to the notice, Rivett passed away December 9th at Baptist Medical Center in Miami Florida. Rivett graduated with a business degree from Northern State in 1963 and went on to found Super 8 in 1974 in Aberdeen. The chain would grow to become one of the largest budget hotel chains across the planet.
