Aberdeen businessman Toby Doeden has formed an exploratory committee seeking to run for South Dakota’s lone seat in Congress. Doeden is a Republican and would be challenging incumbent Dusty Johnson in the Republican primary. Johnson so far has won three primary elections, defeating former secretary of state Shantel Krebs, District 27 state representative Liz Marty May and most recently District 33 state representative Taffy Howard. According to the Dakota Scout, Doeden hopes his pitch as a political outsider will resonate with voters.
