Aberdeen City Council approves first reading of licensing golf carts on some city streets

The Aberdeen City Council at its regular meeting Monday approved the first reading of a new ordinance allowing golf carts on some city streets. The ordinance would allow golf carts on city streets that have a speed limit of 25 miles per hour.

To register your golf cart with the city you must be 18 years or older, to operate you must have a valid driver’s license. Temporary permits would cost $10 while a three year permit would cost $75.

The ordinance will need to be approved again by the council before becoming policy.
