Aberdeen City Council approves new ordinance allowing golf carts on some city streets

The Aberdeen City Council at its Monday meeting approved the new ordinance allowing golf carts on some city streets. In order to operate your golf cart on city streets legally, stipulations must be met. Those include, only driving on streets with speed limits of 25 miles per hour or less, driver’s must have a valid driver’s license, owners of the golf carts must register them with the city, be 18 years or older and have them insured to be on city streets, carts must have safety features including a flag and slow-moving vehicle indicator, and driving on city streets is limited to a half hour before sunrise to a half hour before sunset.
