Aberdeen Fire and Rescue responds to structure fire Monday

Aberdeen Fire and Rescue responded to a structure fire on Monday May 13^th. According to a release from Fire and Rescue, at approximately 7:18 p.m. Aberdeen Fire and Rescue was dispatched to the 100 block of West Melgaard Road for a reported structure fire. Upon arrival first responders found a three-story apartment building with moderate to heavy smoke conditions on the third floor. A small fire was found in a vacant third floor apartment unit. The fire was quickly extinguished and the building was vented for smoke. There was significant smoke damage to the unit and the exact cause of the fire remains under investigation. No injuries were reported and all tenants were allowed to return to their homes.
