Aberdeen police warn of potential new scams hitting the area

The Aberdeen Police Department is warning about new scams hitting the area. According to a post from the Police Department’s Facebook page, the Department has received reports of scammers claiming to be officers with the APD or an “Aberdeen Police Department Sheriff.” The scammers have then tried to gain access to money. The Aberdeen Police Department says it will never call and request payments, checking account info, credit card numbers or other financial information. If you have been a victim of this or other scams you are urged to contact police at 626-7911.
