Aberdeen Police warn of potential scam calls hitting Brown County

The Aberdeen Police Department is warning residents of scam calls being made pretending to represent the police department. According to Aberdeen Police, scammers are calling residents in Brown County claiming to be Aberdeen Chief of Police Dave McNeil. The caller requests personal information and credit card information. According to police, under no circumstances will any member of the police department ask or credit card or financial information over the phone. If you receive one of these calls you are urged to contact Brown County Dispatch immediately.
