Airman who worked at Ellsworth AFB sentenced on attempting to entice a minor charges

An airman who worked at Ellsworth Air Force Base west river has been sentenced to a decade behind bars on attempted enticement of a child charges. According to the US Attorney for South Dakota 22-year-old James Hanapel was sentenced in federal court to 10 years along with five years supervised release. Hanaep was arrested during an undercover sting during the 2021 Sturgis Motorcycle Rally. Prosecutors allege Hanapel believed he was communicating with a 14-year-old girls who was actually an undercover officer.
