An Alcester woman has been indicted on 10 counts of wire fraud. According to the US Attorney for South Dakota, 56-year-old Michelle Warner pleaded not guilty Thursday to the charges she faces. According to the indictment, the crimes allegedly occurred between June of 2018 and May of 2023 while Warner was working as a bookkeeper. She allegedly paid herself extra unauthorized payroll payments for personal use. She is also accused of using her employer’s credit card without authorization. If convicted she faces 20 years in federal prison and a $250,000 fine.
