South Dakota Game Fish and Parks has released a report regarding levels of mercury and consumption safety regarding fish taken from South Dakota Lakes. According to the report, area lakes which have received a consumption advisory includes Bitter Lake, Dry Lake #2, Elm Lake, Hazelden Lake, Kiez Lake, Minnewasta Lake, Lardy Lake, Long Lake, Lynn Lake, Middle Lynn Lake, North Buffalo Lake, Opitz Lake, and South Buffalo Lake. For the most part, Walleyes are most compromised by mercury in these lakes.
