Authorities investigating dead body found following fire west river

South Dakota fire authorities are investigating a house fire in Western South Dakota that left one person dead. First responders were called to flames at a Butte County home on Canyon Lane around 5:30 a.m. Sunday. After fire crews successfully dosed the flames, firefighters discovered what appeared to be human remains. The Department of Criminal Investigation has taken over the case. Little further information was released.
