The South Dakota Board of Regents is considering expanding tuition restitution with three other states to try and remain competitive when it comes to enrollment at South Dakota’s six public universities. The move is part of the South Dakota Advantage program and would provide in state tuition matches to students from Minnesota, Kansas and Missouri if approved. According to the Board of Regents, fewer children were born during the 2007-2009 recession and those fewer children are becoming college aged. It will become more crucial to recruit students from an even smaller pool than normal in the coming semesters.
