Brookings school district superintendent Dr. Klint Willert has resigned from his position as the has been put on probation. The school board accepted his resignation at a special meeting Wednesday. Willert resignation comes after the district was put on temporary probation from the Department of Education for accreditation noncompliance. In a letter sent to parents by Willert explaining the problem, he highlighted four areas the Brookings school district needs to clean up including waivers for administrative rules of South Dakota, updated teacher evaluation, principal evaluation and teacher certification.
