The Brown County Commission has received a qualifying offer on the former Hub City Inc. building it bought hoping to turn it into a regional jail. The County bought the building located at 2914 Industrial Avenue in Aberdeen for $4.5 million in April of 2022. Jay Harris of Oakes North Dakota has offered $3.6 million for the structure in hopes to expand Harris Machine in Aberdeen. Plans to build a regional jail failed after the state legislature this past session chose not to appropriate an money to counties for such projects.
