The Brown County Commission is seeking new entertainment providers following the 2023 Brown County Fair. The decision was made Tuesday at the Brown County Commission’s regular meeting. The commission had the opportunity to cancel its three-year deal with Winterset Concerts out of Nashville within 60 days of the fair completing. In discussion about the decision, Fairboard members and others felt Winterset failed to maximize the fair’s entertainment budget of $450,000. Winterset was hired by the Brown County Commission last summer in an attempt to save anywhere between $25,000 to $30,000, replacing the decades long relationship with talent booking agency Romeo Entertainment Group of of Omaha, NE.
