(KXLG – Watertown, SD) Watertown Police are reporting a response to a single-vehicle crash in the ten block of West Kemp Avenue. The incident occurred around 9:03 AM this morning, November 27, 2024, when a 2007 Chevrolet Impala, driven by a 54-year-old male from Watertown, collided with an unoccupied parked car and struck the side of a downtown business.
The vehicle was attempting to park when the crash happened. Fortunately, no injuries were reported, although the building sustained damage. The exact extent of the damage is still being assessed, and the incident remains under investigation. Watertown Fire Rescue assisted at the scene.
The affected building houses the Access Ministry, led by Councilman Dan Schutte. Schutte, who also serves as the minister, informed KXLG News that the building is closed today and was already closed for the holiday but plans to reopen on Monday.
Gray Construction is currently on-site working on repairs, and Schutte expressed confidence that the structure is sound.
