A Chamberlain nurse has admitted to charges regarding tampering with medication intended for patients. According to court documents 54-year-old Lisa Merrigan pleaded guilty to illegally obtaining a controlled substance. She faces the charges in federal court, including allegations she replaced two vials of fentanyl citrate with another liquid in August and September of last year. The substance is a synthetic opioid used for sedation and for patients facing severe pain due to cancer. She will be sentenced September 11th of this year.
