Chris Nielson to receive a contract extension

University of South Dakota athletic director David Herbster announced this weekend despite a poor performance in the football team’s final game against Northern Iowa, head coach Bob Nielson would be receiving a contract extension. Nielson has been the head coach in Vermillion for seven seasons and is 32-42 in that time. He had just one year left on his contract entering the 2022 season.
