The City of Aberdeen has announced a new partnership with the Presentation Sisters regarding the physical campus on the north part of town that once served as Presentation College. The college officially closed its doors in August after 50 years of educating today’s youth.
Now, the city of Aberdeen has announced it will be acquiring a significant portion of the Sister’s campus, including the Strode Center, the Dome, soccer field and an underdeveloped parcel of land. According to a press release from the city, the new acquisitions will be used to provide more programming during the winter months for Aberdeen residents. The PC Dome will be raised today.
“These properties will help us continue to improve quality of life in Aberdeen by allowing us to expand our commitment to
providing year-round recreational opportunities to everyone in the community”, said Mayor Travis Schaunaman. “The Sisters
of the Presentation of the Blessed Virgin Mary have been integral to the success of Aberdeen and I’m glad that we’re able to
help them perpetuate their legacy for generations to come.”
