Citywide mosquito spray scheduled for Thursday

The Mosquito Control division of the City of Aberdeen will be conducting a city-wide ground spray for Thursday, August 31st between the hours of 8:15 PM and 12:30 AM.

Mosquito Control surveillance program has identified West Nile Virus in Aberdeen as well as a high number of the Culex species which is the most common carrier of West Nile Virus.

City officials urge citizens to take reasonable precautions to avoid being bitten by mosquitoes.

You can reduce the risk of getting West Nile virus by eliminating mosquito habitat around your property, applying insect repellents and wearing proper clothing when outdoors.

To ensure spray effectiveness during the spraying operations the weather will be heavily considered, inclement weather will result in the spray being suspended until conditions improve or cancelled.
