Dakota State head coach Gary Garner announcement retirement at the end of the season

Dakota State head men’s basketball coach Gary Garner has announced he will be retiring at the end of this season. Garner made the announcement Monday. He has been the head coach of the Trojan men’s basketball program for 14 years, the second longest tenure for a Trojan head men’s basketball coach behind legendary former head coach Ed Harter. Garner holds the second most all-time victories in men’s basketball program history at 194 wins. More recently, Garner coached Trojan teams won North Star Athletic Association championships in 2015 and 2016 and won two independent conference post season tournaments in 2012 and 2013.
