Dakotans for Health, an activist group trying to get a constitutional amendment on the ballot in 2024, protecting a women’s right to an abortion in South Dakota, has filed a lawsuit against Lawrence County. According to a press release from the group, the lawsuit seeks a temporary restraining order, preliminary injunction and permanent injunction against the counties “political activity policy.” The policy only allows groups to collect signatures in designated areas. The group calls these restrictions a violation of the first amendment, and won a court case against a similar provision in Minnehaha county last week.
