District 3 State Senator Carl Perry named assistant majority leader in the state senate

The South Dakota Republican Caucus in the state senate has named its leadership for the 2025-26 legislative session. Jim Melhoff was named majority leader with District 3 state senator Carl Perry being named assistant majority leader. Randy Deibert, Kevin Jensen, Sue Peterson and Tom Pischke were each named majority whip and Chris Karr has been named the GOP nominee for President Pro Tempore of the senate.
