District 34 Representative Jess Olson, Republican of Rapid City has announced she has resigned her seat in the state legislature. According to a release, about the decision, she is leaving the legislature citing ongoing health issues. Olson has represented the people of District 34 since 2019. South Dakota Governor Kristi Noem has requested the public’s help in naming someone to fill the vacancy from District 34.
