Presentation College has hired its new baseball coach in Evan Brandt. Brandt comes to Presentation from Finlandia University, where he led the Lions for five seasons.
“I am extremely excited to be taking over the program here at Presentation. I would like to thank Blake Spindler, Marcus Garstecki, and the rest of the committee for entrusting me to lead this program into the future. Throughout the interview process the intent of moving this baseball program forward was evident. The excitement from players around the program is clear. Presentation baseball is and will be a very exciting place to be. I am thrilled to get to work with the players right away and settle in to the community of Aberdeen. Wings Up!” said Coach Evan Brandt.
In 2018, Finlandia won 10 games (second most in school history) and qualified for the post-season for the first time. At the CUNYAC Tournament, the Lions were the number six seed and finished third. Brandt was the assistant coach for the Lions from 2014-17. He helped in the development of Luke Paul, 2016 AD3I Player and Pitcher of the Year.
Prior to coaching at Finlandia Brandt served as the General Manager for Little River Lagoon and the Baseball Director for EAU Claire Sports Warehouse.
“I am thrilled to announce that Evan Brandt has been named our new head baseball coach here at Presentation College. Evan brings many years of head coach experience to the baseball program and our athletic department as a whole. During his coaching career he has shown the ability to build a program, recruit and build strong relationships with his players. He will bring a lot of excitement, organization, and player development to our baseball program. I am excited to watch Coach Brandt build our baseball program and develop the young men on and off the field.” said Presentation College Athletic Director, Blake Spindler.
Prior to coaching, Brandt played collegiately at Findlandia University where he obtained his B.A. in Business Administration and Sports Management, while playing for the Lions Brandt earned two letters in baseball. Brandt holds the single-season school record for walks in a season, single season strike out record, stolen bases record and put outs.
Evan moves to Aberdeen with his Wife Amber and his two dogs Ricky and Rosie.
