The fire fighter who died fighting a fire in the northwest part of Huron Monday has been identified. 48-year-old Josh Kogel has been identified as the person killed after suffering a medical situation while fighting the fire in 100 degree temperatures. He served as Cavour South Dakota’s chief firefighter and had a 20 year firefighting career. He leaves behind two children and two step children. The three building crews responded to, identified as Hurd Alignment and Services have been deemed total losses.
