A victim fully engulfed in a grain bin was rescued Tuesday by first responders in Edmunds County. According to the Edmund County Emergency Management, Bowdle Fire Department, Bowdle Ambulance, Avera Careflight, Edmunds County Sheriff”s office and Agtegra’s TRT team responded to a call of a victim engulfed in a grain bin. Through quick work, emergency workers were able to cut through the depths of the bin and rescue the trap person. The name of the victim or any further details about the situation were not released. According to Farmprogress.com, there have been more than 900 cases of grain engulfment over the past 50 years, 62 percent of those being fatal encounters.
