The Flandreau school district was evacuated Tuesday, on just the second day of the school year. According to authorities, an alert was issued Tuesday. All students were evacuated and bussed to the tribal community center in Flandreau. There was no reason given for the evacuation, but all children were safe and accounted for. According to the National Center for Education Statistics, the Flandreau school district encompasses four schools and 720 students.
