Former Augustana baseball player Carter Howell signs professional deal with San Francisco

Augustana baseball player Carter Howell has signed an undrafted free agent deal professional deal with the San Francisco Giants. The deal with worth $50,000 according to reports. He will need to work his way up through the Giants farm system before a shot at the majors. Howell is a Moorhead Minnesota native who was chosen as a Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference first team selection his senior year. He batted .396 with 11 doubles, three triples, 17 home runs and 74 RBIs in 61 games with the Vikings.
