Centerville South Dakota man who once served as mayor has been charged with first degree murder in connection to the shooting deaths of three people within the city Monday night. According to the South Dakota Office of Attorney General 64-year-old Jay Ostrem is being held in the Minnehaha county jail on $1 million cash bond. The incident occurred in the 1000 block of Main Street in Centerville. Little further details about the incident were released. The investigation is being conducted by the South Dakota Division of Criminal Investigation. Ostrem also formerly served as law enforcement, but his credentials expired in 2016.
