Former Minnesota North Star defenseman Brad Maxwell passed away Sunday at the age of 66. According to a release about his passing, Maxwell died after a long battle with lung cancer. Maxwell was Minnesota’s first round pick, 7th overall in 1977 and played nine season for the North Stars. He was an all-star selection in 1983-84 and was on the team that lost the 1981 Stanley Cup Final to the New York Islanders.
