Former Minnesota Wild goaltender Niklas Backstrom has been named the goalie coach for the Columbus Blue Jackets. Backstrom is 45-years-old and had a career record of 196-144-50 with a 2.40 goals against average and a 914 save percentage. He played 10 NHL seasons with the Minnesota Wild and the Calgary Flames between 2006 to 2016. HE retired following the 2018-19 campaign after a 21 year playing career in the NHL and in Europe.
