A former Sioux Falls teacher has been indicted on 16 federal child pornography charges.
According to court documents 27-year-old Justin Preuschl faces six counts attempted production of child pornography, three counts of production of child pornography and seven counts of transfer of obscene material to minors.
Court documents allege back in October of 2023 into early 2024 Preuschl attempted to pose as a 15-year-old male, pressuring victims into sending him explicit material. At the time Preuschl was a teacher at Whittier Middle School. Parents were first alerted to the incident in March with the Sioux Falls public school district notifying them a staff member had been arrested.
He has plead not guilty to the charges he faces, no trial date has been set. If found guilty he could face a maximum sentence of 30 years in federal prison, a $250,000 fine and a lifetime of supervised release.
