Former South Carolina Republican Governor Nikki Haley announced Tuesday in a video posted to social media she is running for President in 2024. She is the first high profile candidate to announce they are willing to challenge former president Donald Trump in a Republican primary. Haley served as Governor of South Carolina from 2011 to 2017 and in January of 2017 was named the United States Ambassador to the United Nations by then President Trump.
