The Minnesota Twins have announced former catcher Joe Mauer will be enshrined into the team’s Hall of Fame this coming season in August. He will be enshrined before a game against the Arizona Diamond Backs on Saturday August 5th. A Minnesota native, Mauer was selected first overall by the Twins in the2001 MLB draft. He made his major league debut in 2004 and played all 15 seasons of his career with Minnesota. He is arguably the best catcher in club history. He is first in doubles, second in games played, hits and third in total bases. He also won the American League MVP in 2009 and won three batting titles, the most by a catcher in league history.
