Former USD basketball player Mihai Cracoana takes plea deal in rape case

A former University of South Dakota men’s basketball player has pleaded guilty to rape charges as part of a plea deal. According to court documents 21-year-old Mihai Carcoana has pleaded guilty to one count of rape for an incident at his campus apartment in December of 2022. In exchange for his plea agreement three other charges have been dropped. HE is scheduled to be sentenced in April.
