The Frederick School Board Monday tabled any decision about possibly ending the sports coop between Leola and Frederick high schools for basketball and volleyball starting in 2023-24.
According to the McPherson County Herald, no reason was given for the item on the agenda and the issue had not been discussed at prior Frederick School Board meetings.
The coop between basketball and volleyball ends this year while football has two years left on its coop agreement.
45 minutes of public comment was taken, where attendees almost entirely spoke out against the idea of splitting the school coop. The Leola/Frederick Titans sports coop has existed for over 20 years.
