The South Dakota Department of Revenue reports gambling in the historic west river city Deadwood reached almost $750 million during the first half of 2024. That is up about 1.5 percent from the first half of 2023. Gamblers spent about $700 million on slot machines, $43.95 million on table games and $4.36 million on sports betting. Sports betting was up the most over last year with an about 9 percent increase from the same period in 2023.
