Game Fish and Parks votes to remove free entrance and fishing to state parks on Mother’s and Father’s day

The South Dakota Game Fish and Parks Commission voted Thursday to no longer allow free entrance and free fishing at South Dakota’s state parks Mother’s Day and Father’s Day. However, the Commission did keep in place the Open House and Free Fishing Weekend which occurs annually in May. On that weekend visitors get into state parks for free and do not require a fishing license to fish.
