In another move showing solidarity, the Yankton Sioux Tribe has voted to ban South Dakota Governor Kristi Noem from its reservation. Tribal leaders voted on the motion at a special meeting Friday. This is the sixth tribal nation in the state to ban Governor Noem, following the Sisseton Wahpeton Oyate doing so last week. The tribes in the state are banning governor Noem over comments she made earlier this year, and has recently reiterated that Mexican drug cartels are in operation on tribal land, with the protection of tribal leadership for said tribal leaderships benefit. The tribes have demanded Governor Noem provide proof of her allegations or apologize.
