Gov. Noem reportedly to serve as Secretary of Homeland Security

Multiple News outlets are now reporting President-elect Trump has chosen South Dakota Governor Kristi Noem to serve as his secretary of the Department of Homeland Security. Expected to serve with Noem in top advisory roles within the department includes Stephen Miller and Tom Homan. If Noem gets the reported appointment she will take over a department with a $60 billion budget and oversee hundreds of thousands of employees. The department oversees a host of security issues including anti-terrorism, border security, immigration and customs, cyber security, FEMA and more. Should Noem become DHS secretary, Lieutenant Governor Larry Rhoden would assume the governorship for the remainder of Noem’s term.
