Gov. Noem says she will implement recreational marijuana if passed by voters

South Dakota Governor Kristi Noem visited the Brown County Fair this week campaigning for re-election against challenger, Democrat Representative Jamie Smith. When asked about marijuana legalization Governor Noem says she would work to implement recreational marijuana if voters approved it via the passage of IM27. Voters already approved recreational marijuana in the form of Amendment A in 2020, but Governor Noem helped bring a lawsuit against the amendment. The amendment was ultimately struck down by the state supreme court.
