South Dakota Governor Kristi Noem says the state’s “Freedom Works Here” workforce recruitment ad has been viewed by almost 250 million people. Governor Noem is touting the ads as a success and claims her office has received hundreds of applications in the process of moving to the state. Almost 2,500 people have applied looking for jobs in South Dakota including 388 from California, 197 from Texas, 185 from Florida, 107 from New York and 96 from Arizona. South Dakota currently has the second worst workforce shortage in the nation with about 40 available workers for every 100 jobs.
