Highway patrol officer uninjured after vehicle struck while performing traffic stop

A South Dakota Highway Patrol office was uninjured despite being hit by a passing pickup truck while conducting a traffic stop in Watertown Sunday. That’s when an approaching pickup driven by a 91-year-old Henry man failed to move over far enough striking the office’s vehicle costing an estimated $6,500. The trooper was inside the vehicle at the time of the collision. The Henry man has been charged with causing an accident with a stopped emergency vehicle and driving without a valid license.
